|
Sales increase 145 percent in 2006, with more than 270 units installed VANCOUVER, WASH.—JoeScan, Inc., a leading manufacturer of laser scan heads for sawmills and other wood-products applications, announced today that 2006 marked a fourth consecutive year of growth in sales numbers for the company’s signature line of JS-20 scan heads. JoeScan sales increased 145 percent from 2005 levels, with scanners installed throughout North America, Chili and New Zealand. The year saw the introduction of the JS-20WA, an innovative and economical wide-angle scanner that allows precise scanning in transverse configurations as well as other applications that require a shorter standoff. The JS-20WA can scan the same length of wood from half the distance required by other products. “As people in the timber industry have seen firsthand or heard from others that JoeScan scan heads offer better efficiency, productivity, reliability and ease of use than other products on the market, demand has steadily grown,” said Joey Nelson, founder and president of JoeScan. “We’re glad to see this steady and continued growth, and look forward to more of the same in 2007.” About JoeScan JoeScan has been making scanners for the sawmill industry since 1999. The company introduced its popular JS-20 model in 2002, followed by the JS-20XR and JS-20SR in 2003, the JS-20DL dual-laser model in 2005 and the JS-20WA in 2006. JoeScan scanners are renowned for their simple operation and rugged durability in challenging mill environments. They feature easy installation, with intuitive calibration and an uncomplicated set-up procedure. Because of their simple and reliable technology, they’re easily adapted to virtually any application or mill configuration.
